Using RDP with Multiple Monitors

If you require multiple displays for your remote sessions using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), this can be done a couple of different simple ways.

From RDP Options

  1. From the Start Menu, open RDP.
  2. Expand “Show Options”.
  3. Open the “Display” tab.
  4. Check the “Use all my monitors for the remote session” box.
  5. Click Connect once the “Computer” field has been populated.

From Run

  1. From the Start Menu, open Run.
  2. Type mstsc.exe -multimon into the Run window, click OK, and sign into the desired machine.
  3. The RDP window will open with the “Use all my monitors for the remote session” box already checked.
